CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Definitely another world out there. The secret plumber not coming over as very credible, but he has posted the fact that he has been charged by polis on his facebook?? He suggests the recent twitter issue is a hoax. The cyclist appears to decline to report being knocked off her bike to the police?
"Definitely another world out there"
Including the apparent fact that if one motorist complains about another the police take it seriously.
No, TSP not coming out of this at all well. Seems to have a number of inconsistencies in the statement and comes over as fairly objectionable individual. Avoid at all costs, IMHO.
"Including the apparent fact that if one motorist complains about another the police take it seriously."
Well, there were apparently two occupants of the car, so the corroboration issue is dealt with. The sooner corroboration disappears from Scots law, the better for cyclists and many other groups IMO.
Doesn't explain why headcam footage & a witness statement from riders is routinely dismissed by Polis Scotland though.
Saw a Secret Plumber van this am on Broomhouse Dr.
Noticed that he had two red-triangle stickers on the back. One said, "Cyclists. Take extra care around this vehicle." The other I couldn't read, but said sthg different.
So why do cyclists need to take extra care around his vehicle? Is it because he can't be bothered driving in a competent & respectful manner?
Can we get "... because I drive like a d!ck." stickers made up to add to these (and similar)?
@adamthekiwi, that's an excellent idea.
I'd love to make up stickers to put on vehicles that abuse ASLs, but I have a nasty suspicion that sticking something on someone else's car could be criminal damage, or something...
Printed magnets (like those flat fridge magnets) couldn't possibly do any damage though
I see the spelling / lack of apostrophes on his sticker matches up with that of the supposed 'mate' who sent the abusive Twitter messages.
The boy's a genius...
I've had a brush with genius...
On the morning school run we were followed along an active bus lane by the Secret Plumber.
I explained to Mhairi that he was a known genius...
Then this evening, we coincided again, as he took exception to us being doubled up at a pinch point, hooted and shouted something incomprehensible after we'd singled up again. Objecting to my rebellious signal (not the NiceWay one as I'm not American), he pulled over in the cycle lane and drove off shouting something or other rather than let us overtake again.
We were quite chuffed to interact with a local celebrity!
Robert
That couldn't POSSIBLY have been the real Secret Plumber. He's such a polite gentleman and would never treat people like that or use such language.
Perhaps the mate the took his phone and posted the abusive messages has now taken his van without permission? ;-)
Are these new?
Take Extra care when passing this vehicle.
And remember all that seeing a drivers mirrors means is that they can see you.
Short for "take extra care when passing this vehicle" it is driven by a clown
I like the sticker's recognition that cycling is quicker than driving.
