Don't even think of heading outside with arm warmers, a hat, gloves, a fleece or indeed anything remotely resembling clothing normally appropriate for this time of year.

13 degrees this evening and muggy. Went for a wee trail run up the Braids and I could swear it was summer given how sweltering I was. Perfectly fine to coast back through town on the bike with shorts, a summer jersey and paper thin gloves.

    Winter, where have you gone?

I've just been out a walk to Tesco and was thinking exactly the same. If it wasn't so dark and I wasn't such a scaredy pants I'd be tempted to drag the bike out of a midnight tour of the city.

    Was summer this warm?!

  3. Going out riding the streets really really late is great. Lovely to get a different perspective on the city.

I always like to do a late night spin round Arthur's Seat, or, if I'm feeling fit, out to Balerno and then along Harlaw Road and the farm track - looking down on the city at night is awesome (although, as a purely aesthetic stargazer, I should decry the sea of lights, but, in its own way, it is gorgeous)

Aye, I was far too warm cruising back from the station last night. It is an incredibly mild December so far.

I think it's time to admit defeat and convert wintersaurus back to wee blue floofy.

Monday will see us return to winter temperatures. Enjoy the warmth while it lasts.

I've heard the North Pole is nice at this time of year.

My friends all seem to be coping with -40. Am sure they'd be happy if you wanted to visit.

"I've heard the North Pole is nice at this time of year."

A colleague popped to Lappland at the start if the week. -40°C there, too, though still and dry. Sounded lovely, apart from all the christmas-themed nonsence.

Well I didn't expect to be posting here again, but today I was riding around with bare arms. Cool, yes, but nowhere close to January cold.

I had a dig through my photo collection and noticed that about this time last year it was like this.

Saw a chap on the NEPN last night (about 6pm) wearing nothing but [nearly] see-through lycra t-shirt and shorts. Brrrrrr.

[However I noticed that NEPN has been gritted this afternoon - icy tomorrow? Might get the winter bike out]

    Grifters out on A70 tonight.

I have been in shorts on way home this week but opted for bib longs tonight

@allebong, may yet see such scenes in 2014. Rest of January, February and March to go yet before we're (usually) in the clear!
