Ladies and Gents, apologies for an OT post but I know some of you go down to (and indeed under) the sea...
Today is the anniversary of the loss of the Solomon Browne and her crew (the Penlee lifeboat, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penlee_lifeboat_disaster )
Please have a pause and a thought for these brave souls, and their surviving families at this time of year, and if you can spare a quid or two for the RNLI, I for one would be grateful.

A fine body of men and women. Our nearest station (South Queensferry) is one of the busiest station in Scotland.
The come round the doors by us every now and then - one of the charities I'll always go hunting for some change for. Our sadly departed next door neighbour was an old navy man that the tin-rattlers always stopped to chat with.
Village scouts were out last week chapping up the doors of their patch collecting for the RNLI. Raised about £1200
