Was there a "how far have you cycled in 2013?" thread? If so, I can't find it...

I remember starting one for 2011 but I don't remember one for 2013.

Compared with people like DaveC, I definitely 'Lost' in the mileage stakes!

Strava might be able to tell us? Or does it only have weekly league tables? And of course not everyone will be on it.

Does anyone still use dedicated cycle computers these days? I have one that's seen about 4.5k miles over ~3 years but between several sequential bikes - I think it's actually gone further than any one frame or part I've owned. All on one battery as well. Cost me <£10 from Halfords if I recall. Getting my moneys worth.

I still use them, though I don't have one on the Brompton, am I a luddite? should I be doing something clever with a smartphone? :-s

I did my usual 3k miles or thereabouts, mixed between commuting, sportiving, Glentressing, and just general pottering.

Bicycle resolutions for this year: do something longer than my longest ride thus far; get fitter; try another duathlon; pester my employer for better cyclist facilities; avoid buying lighter bits of bike tech unless I lose weight myself first; beat the fear and learn to do drop-offs properly (or at least non-injuriously); do not succumb to n+1.

    PS Happy New Year, all.

I've got a cheapo Halfords one on my main road bike. I use Strava to track my mileage etc but it's on my phone, not a Garmin. Prefer to keep the phone out of harms way than strapped to the bars, so got the computer to help keep an eye on speed for group rides. Otherwise it's way too easy to add on a mph or two when hitting the front.
