  1. Leaving work last night I went past a lowered Honda Civic in a queue. Nothing unusual really, window down and music blaring, and a strange stick-on animated graphic equaliser in the rear window that lit up in time to the beat. That just makes it recognisable, so when I heard the big exhaust behind me on the south park road I knew exactly who it was who was overtaking too quickly on the upcoming blind corner.

What was great was catching up at Duddingston Village. I always take the back road, past the Sheep Heid, and there he is, in front of me. And then, first speed bump and.... scrrrraaaaaaaaaapeeee..... As he approaches the second speed bump I seize my chance. There are no parked cars about, and I know he's going to have to go ridiculously slowly both on and off (they're long speed bumps). Hammer down, and breeze past.

I can hear the irritated loud exhaust try to catch up as he comes off the bump, but theree's one more, then a 90 degree turn, then another bump.... And it's downhill with a tailwind to the Duddingston Crossroads. Not a hope of catching me again.

    Grin.

He'll be posting right now on nedcardrivingedinburgh.info about how a cyclist held him up for 10 minutes, cycled in the middle of the road and wouldn't get out of the way.
