It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

Ok I got a little Christmas money to buy cycling longs, I have leg warmers (breaks into a swift rendition of "fame") so maybe medium weight shorts would work if there is such a thing...
Any good offers available out there just now? Or just good value kit anyone might suggest?

EBC has a clothing sale. Quite a few bits and pieces, but all depends on your size requirements. Lots of stuff on sale online at Evans, too.
I liked the Endura MT500s I once had because they have double-layer sides that resist tearing in a fall but maybe they are thicker than you are looking for.
+1 to Endura, very well made stuff. Also good experiences with Madison.
I have a pair of gore brand bib longs, warm but not boiling. Bought from the bike chain in the good old days. Still doing the business. mark made claim the technology meant they became thicker as they aged. I haven't found this but they haven't got thinner, pad or tights.
I have a pair of endura fleece lined waterproof bib longs. Amazing but too warm except on very very cold days and no pad
I have pair of altura three quarters, they are very thin and really just for winter into spring and summer into autumn
The gore and altura are ancient, the endura newer, but still old, I just haven't worn them much, in case anyone thinks I have a bib long obsession?
I have DHB bib longs. They are pretty comfortable though I think they're on the point of wearing (I have them about 3 or 4 years, wearing them once a week in winter weather).
For commuting, I usually use Ronhills or similar. The current leggings are actually made by Polaris and are a bit too warm in the autumn but okay now.
Only wear biblongs in the winter - have the Endura 'fleecy lined' ones.
Excellent in cold weather, good pad, only minor criticism is the decals are starting to fall off - not an issue for me as I wear shorts over them. Probably my fault for washing them too high temp.
Wouldn't spend my Chrimbo money on them but I have some fleece lined bib longs from LiDL and they are great. Also have an old pair of Endura bib shorts (summer weight) and the decal/logo has partly peeled off those. Comfy though. For 3/4s again I have some from LiDL, just normal waistband version.
