Ladies, gents, there is a dangerous pothole at Holy Corner, heading southbound (towards Morningside from Lothian Road) on the inside lane. It's a dangerous one in traffic as you may not see it until the last second and it's large/deep. I had to do a last second emergenct bunnyhop this morning, anyone with a child trailer or bike unsuitable for stunts could easily come off.
As it is I'm going to have to check the back end of the Brommie for damage as the his was hard enough :-(

Take care out there people :-/

and the reply to that tweet was "South Team ‏@south_team
@Edinburgh_CC @DaveHenniker Thanks - this is an outstanding Scottish Power repair - we are aware & chasing. More progress will be made today" (yesterday)

That's not really a pothole, more a sort of potroad. :-/

I Clarenced this pothole a month ago, they filled it, it got excavated again, I re-Clarenced it two days ago after nearly hitting it myself.

Yep that whole section past Churchill Theatre to Holy Corner is dire.

Looked worse this morning, think it may have sunk more! At what stage do Scottish Power start paying for repairs to peoples cars and bikes!?

I was unlocking my bike from the stands at the Eric Liddle centre last night when a car exiting Chamberlain Road dropped into the pothole, lost traction then wheelspun, sending a shower of gravel/grit across the pavement. Fortunately I was behind a low wall or I probably would have been hit.

The not-nearly-so-big pothole alongside Broomhouse Path has been coned off (although cones are now scattered on footway, suggesting they've been driven into!).

While the council argues with Scottish Power about getting it repaired, at the very least it should be coned off.

This is on my commute home - the photo doesn't really do it justice, it's a monster. I've Clarenced it (again).

It is also quite difficult to avoid due to the road layout at that point and very difficult to see in the dark.

Scottish Power's contractors never finished reinstating the road here - they partly filled the hole, but never laid the top layer of tarmac. This sub-layers were quickly gouged out and then patched by the Council - with inevitable results.

So withing a couple of hours of being named (shamed?) On public social media they can effect a temp repair and schedule an allegedly permanent one, this on a hole repeatedly reported by the supposedly "proper" means...
I should be pleased something is being done, but I'm actually pretty disgusted by the cynicism shown. Reminds me of the Ford Pinto scandal tbh.

There's a picture of the repair on Twitter I think.

At the cutting edge of being slightly behind the social media curve?
