I went for Arran but the prize is a pair of adult tix. Not sure if that included car or not.

Prize " tickets for Caledonian MacBrayne and NorthLink are valid for foot passengers only and do not include vehicle transport on ferries;"
If you try to buy a normal ticket for a vehicle online the options do not include pedal cycles as a vehicle but the Calmac timetables I've looked at have "pedal cycles free"

CalMac charged for bikes a few years ago. Folders could dodge that. If you had a multi journey ticket or a travel card bikes went free.

I put in for Largs - Cumbrae. Memsahib isn't likely to go for Arran or Bute.

I won a pair of free tickets in the VisitScotland draw - Scrabster to Stromness - and have just returned from a very pleasant bike tour around the Orkneys. Bikes go free on all Northlink ferries, (Orkney and Shetland) and they also go free on all the smaller, island-hopping routes with Orkney Ferries. Also, now free on all Calmac services.

Orkney's brilliant for cycling as it's mostly flat, although mtb'ing on Hoy tracks is a bit more 'challenging'!

I 'won' pair for Arran. Definitely cyclable. I know folk doing a route that way so might donate them, if the letter hasn't been binned.

There's some well maintained mountain bike tracks on Arran. At least there used to be, I can't currently find the maps for them.

There's also plenty of quiet road if you prefer that style of riding.
