Seen the aftermath of a cyclist who had had an altercation with a couple of tram works vehicles parked on the Broomhouse Path opposite Makro this morning at 1000hrs.
Bike was on the deck, cyclist was standing but with hands on their knees, either catching their breath or wincing from pain.
Unsure what happened as the two vehicles were half on the path, half on the grass, looks like they were parked so the cyclist either cycled in to the back of them (unlikely) or one of the occupants of the vehicles doored them (more likely).
Without making light of the situation I had an incredulous grin on my face when I watched one of the vehicle occupants dive back in to his vehicle to retrieve then don his hard hat, WTF was that all about?
If it was anyone here I hope your OK and apologies for not stopping, I was in my car at the head of a line of traffic, had there been anywhere safe to stop I would have!

There's a little access lane there to the transformer compound. Of course they built it so that the lane cuts across the path with priority, and not the other way around. With double yellows all the way along it. Needles to say there's normally contractors vehicles parked on it. Saw three yesterday pull hi-speed reverse turns out infront of me.
I hope this unfortuante person is OK and makes an official complaint. I'm really sick of contractors vehicles on the path.

Every time I've went along there it's been thankfully quiet but I've always thought it'd be ripe for an accident. Presumably the existence of the give way on the path to the lane excuses all responsibility to watch out for cyclists. Though if it were the other way round, who thinks it would make a difference anyway...

I passed those 2 vehicles earlier in the morning. They were both parked fully on the grass, but *very* close to the Tarmac of the path.
I was extremely conscious about getting doored & took a wide berth, as I could see they were
lazing about in the van for hourson their tea breakBTW - it wasn't me that crashed

The only plus to this is that they've taken to heart the complaints about parking fully over both cycle and ped sections right around the bend, all but blocking the whole path with no visibility from South Gyle Access until you were on top of it.
Hope person is ok.
