    Excellent, though the title had me hoping for something like a sort of Clarence 24/7 fast-response proper-repair enforcement squad, monitoring social media for infrastructure issues.

    That's great news. From the article it sounds like it only covers utilities companies. I hope they also cover the pothole patchers who the council pays to do make repairs which sometimes only last a matter of days.

    I can help thinking that fining utility companies with multi-million pound turnovers £80 or £120 isn't going to act as much of a deterrent.

    Hopefully they are also forcing them to come back and repair the road. After all if I was given a parking ticket but after paying the £30 was allowed to leave my car in that spot forever more it wouldn't be much of a deterrent either.
