Contemplating getting microSRD a used islabike cnoc 14

I'm pretty convinced by the benefits of the larger, derailleured bikes. But is the cnoc enough of an improvement over other similarly sized first bikes to justify the markup? (Bearing in mind that we have at least two small first bikes for him to learn on already).

We've been monitoring them on eBay for a couple of months whilst waiting for the big one's inside leg to reach the minimum and they seem to usually resell for no less than 75% of their original value.

Yes. Resale value is definitely one of the positives.

"they seem to usually resell for no less than 75% of their original value"

Sign of a 'quality' item (or a well hyped one).

Either way, means that if you sell again you should get a reasonable price (as long as it's looked after.

One of the selling points of the bigger IR's bikes, is that they are light relative to most kids' bikes.

Presume this will apply to this size too.

There must be a lot of kids 'put off cycling' by absurdly heavy bikes!

The Frog bikes seem to be getting good reviews, and are a little less pricey.

Yes, if buying new would deffo be tempted by a frog. If only because we could go to a shop and try it! But they've not yet made the pilgrimage to eBay.
