    Dear ,

In the past you've used Fill That Hole, CTC's pothole reporting website, and agreed for CTC to contact you.

At the end of last year CTC was granted funding by the Department for Transport to update and expand the use of Fill That Hole.

    Updating the iPhone app

The first stage of that process is to update our existing iPhone app, which allows you to report potholes anywhere. A test version of that app is now available, which it would be very useful to have your feedback on.

To help test the new app, you'll need to do the following:

    1. Use this link to create an account on the Fill That Hole section of TestFlight, a system which will give you access to a version of the new app (nb - this will only work if you have a modern iPhone, with iOS7).

    2. On your phone navigate to TestFlight at <http://www.testflightapp.com> and register the device or devices you wish to test on with TestFlight.

    Android and web updates coming

Once the Apple version is complete we will build and release a version for Android phones. Other refinements to the website will then follow.

If you still want to receive emails from CTC on Fill That Hole, you don't need to do anything. If you don't want to receive these emails, you can update your email preferences here. We'll only send occasional emails as things change on the site.

Thanks once again for reporting defects through the site - each report helps make the roads that little bit safer for everyone.

    Yours,

    Chris Peck

I'm looking forward to the Android version. Plenty holes on my commute which could do with a good report.

I have to commend Fife council's rapid response to the ones I've reported. They were painted in days and filed with blancmange within a couple of weeks.

However I'm still waiting for Edinburgh to even respond with more than a cursory we've forwarded your message to the relevant department.

    Likewise Android-version anticipant.

Just as I got my four-week follow-up question from FixMyStreet about the Morrison St/Dalry Rd lumpycorner it was all coned-off yesterday, though whether it's to fix the previous shoddy repair or for further pipe-rummaging is unknown.

Wingpig, I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. The gas works further up Morrison Street are finished but the surface isn't much better than before.

Aye, I'll need to wait for the Android version too.
