Coming back around 6pm today I passed a huge queue which was squeezing past an ambulance and two patrol cars at the vet's in Juniper Green (where the farmers' market is held).

Road bike on the ground with slightly mangled looking STI shifter (that was about all I caught sight of) - rider presumably in ambulance.

Not obvious what had happened. I'm trying to find a headcam still just now.

    Click for the large version:

Wheels looked OK, but STIs obviously mangled. Hopefully nobody on here (and hopefully nothing as major as the ambulance suggests!)

obviously it's a dentist and not a vet... shows how much attention I pay!

    Not I.
I hope the cyclist is not too badly hurt.

Bloke at work went past what was probably this and says he saw the cyclist sitting at the side of the road...

Putting 2 and 2 together I think this is a colleague of mine who I also know through ERC. Looks like his bike and he lives up that way.

Selfie on the book of faces says "face paint compliments of the VW Golf that took me out last night".

Looks like he is battered, bruised but not broken.

P.S. car stopped, police dealing with.
