Expect Jeremy Clarkson to shrivel and cyle paths to blossom...
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

(annoyingly, he fails to mention edinburgh/scotland even though i sent him the equiv data and contacts such that he could). bah.
@ SRD, write the Scottish article for him and he might try a bit harder, lazy so and so
Now that would be an achievable election pledge from any party that, in the course of a parliament, wanted to make a real difference in people's lives.
It's easy to scoff, but newspaper editorials are the sort of thing that gives politicos either a shove or a bit more clout (depending on where they stand) in the arguments that lead to the development of manifestos.
The census data is already three years old - not recent enough to capture what appears to be a considerable increase in cyclists in Edinburgh in the last couple of years.
You would think cycling was natural Guardian territory, but I think The Times stole a march on them with the Cities fit for cycling campaign and they have seemed reluctant to become involved in any meaningful way since this. The comments under the editorial are bizarre.
Guardian comments used to be interesting/worth reading. no more.
This one's OK -
"
The problem I see is that to make it happen you've either got to remove some of the motorised vehicles from the roads or to take space from them and give it to cyclists.

There's increased astroturf/trolling right enough, but I'd not write CiF off yet. There are some very clued up people on the Scottish threads, some very amusing ones elsewhere.
