Cool, I'm sure drivers will be lobbying for the extra parking space, or taxi's will be lobbying for a rank there.

I can well imagine that a shop owner paying city centre business rates will be put out by market traders pitching up and paying relatively little to pinch their trade.
Having said that. it would be good to reverse the 1960s ban on open street markets in Edinburgh city centre. A proper market too, not some festive thing seling tourist tat or a 'farmer's market' with overpriced foodstuffs. Maybe Market Street would be a good location?
