But the panel says all the improvements will be swamped by the future growth in global traffic.
That is unless governments improve public transport, tax motorists and plan cities for walking and cycling.

Of course there are many more reasons for doing those things than just 'pollution'.
One day some politicians will realise that there's more to life than just sticking with 'but people will always want to use their cars (and people that don't own them don't count)'.
