CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.
Edinburgh Cycle Company was there today. I had a long chat with Neill Hope and tried out one of the KTM bikes with the Bosch electric assist.
Bicycle parking seemed nonexistent though.
I'd vaguely heard about the show but didn't realise it was tomorrow... It also makes me rather more disappointed with TESLA's customer service team since they completely failed to mention to me that they are at this show when not quite apologising for having messed up my attempt to book a test drive of the Model S with them directly via their website. Ironically, given that these test drives are based at the Radisson Blu hotel on the Royal Mile this weekend, it is entirely possible that I will contribute towards delaying somebody else's test drive tomorrow afternoon due to PoP.
Does all the funding and effort going from government into electric cars annoy others as much as it does me? Most of the problems with cars remain - congestion, danger to pedestrians and cyclists, lack of exercise, space devoted to parking, waste of energy, etc. The ONLY gain is local air pollution.
Equating this in any way to the benefits of walking, cycling or using public transport is nonsense.

Good Afternoon,
EVOLUTION Scotland is coming back and I found this post from last year on your forum..
http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/topic.php?id=12675
It seemed one or two of your members were unaware of the event or only found out about it after it was too late. I wondered if you would be so kind as to share this year’s event with your members - http://scotland.evolutionshow.co.uk/
There will be an array of electric bikes to try at this year’s show by Neill Hope’s Edinburgh Cycle Company as well as a chance to win one (brand and model unknown at present).
I have also noticed that one of your members was a little upset about there being a lack of security/space for his bike to be stored whilst at the event… I have addressed this with Neill and he is happy to set up a “bike park” whereby he will make sure that all visitors who got the the event via push bike can have peace of mind that their bike is safe and secure.
We would love for you to come down to the event, registration is entirely free and can be done so by following the 2 link provided.
If you need any more information please let me know. Looking forward to your response.
Kind regards
.....

I've been scouring the Greenfleet and Evolution websites and neither gives any information for people arriving by any means other than car. Until the websites are updated I'm not going to bring my bike and find I have to take my chances with staff who aren't expecting bicycles and tell me "You can't bring that in here."
I'm sure Neill would enjoy having a velomobile as a draw (albeit not an electric one) but I'll be arriving by two wheeled infernal combustion again.
Will they have a Madelvic?
