    “The Pearl Izumi Tour Series is coming to Edinburgh on the 29th May. The day will include; the main Tour Series event for elite professional riders, the Martix fitness Woman's GP Series for women professional riders and the ERC support races. Edinburgh Council are looking for enthusiastic volunteers that have an interest in the sport to help marshal the events. As well as being in prime position to watch the races you will receive a goody bag for your effort (I’m told it’s a good one). The racing will start in the early afternoon and finish in the evening. Staff will be rotated but you have to be available for the whole event!”

    Please fill out the form if you wish to register as a marshal https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1XwrqtVdqdEJlvGGB6c7AQcsrgikp_VxUkfJVoIvNtFo/viewform

    Yes, as will my daughter. She's hoping to be there during the afternoon, I'll be going along for the start of the women's race.

    I'll be there. Hope to be away from work in time for the women's race, but work may have other plans...

    I was going to go, but alas work commitments have ruined that plan. Was looking forward to it too. Looking forward to reports as to how good it is.

    Laid Back Bike shop and Edinburgh Festival of Cycling are invited guests.
    Look out for Kim and the 'flying bathtub'. If anyone wants to co-pilot our tandem round the circuit then let me know. (easy btw)
    We've access to circuit between 13.00 and 14.30. EdFoC will be there all day I think. .Also ERC and Hoy Bikes new children's range. They look good. The man himself will be around I'm sure.

    I think the Men's race is 1 hr + 4 laps .. but could be under-thinking.

    So how does that work then, do the number of laps during the 60 mins count for anything?

    If I remember correctly you need to remain on the current lap to remain in the race. ie if you get lapped then you are eliminated.
    You have a choice of pushing hard and eliminating riders but risking being tired at the end or going easy and risking being eliminated by a surprise attack.

    Highlights of Tuesday's stage from Durham are on ITV4 tonight, 10-11pm (rpt 6:55am). Get yourselves a taster ahead of tomorrow.

    Scottish interest will come from Charline Joiner, Eileen Roe & Katie Archibald, and Evan Oliphant amongst others (dependent on selection).

    Highlights from tomorrow at 9pm on the 30th (6am rpt).

    We'll try to get along after school/work - if the weather's not too vile.

    Anyone know how long the women's race is? (on the assumption that it will be shorter than the men's - this is cycling...)

    Download the race manual here. It states that the women's race finishes at 18:15, so around 45 minutes (officially 40 minutes).

    @Focus think you.
    It sounds like I'll get there just in time to miss the finish of the women's race. Humpf.
