I'm not entirely sure what the question is, but if you're asking for alternative suggestions for brake shoes, I use LifeLine Professional Road Brake Shoes in my Tiagra calipers, and had no issues so far. Note you will need a 1.5 hex allen key to replace the inserts in the future, took me ages to determine what size I needed.

If you're just commuting, the Clark's pads (available in Bike Works) do the job just fine. Cheap, cheerful, they make you stop.

  4. Seconded for the Clarks.

Used to buy Koolstop Salmon pads but don't find the Clarks any less efficient for braking in the dry or wet.
