If you're on the EBC mailing list you'll probably have got a SALE card this morning.

Once again they are offering their toolkit at 1/3 off. (£30 instead of £45).

Great for schools, youth clubs etc. (and people who don't already have 'every' tool).

Three-way allen keys are particularly good (esp. for children) to get a good grip.

Sale starts Sat - free postage over £20...

I have this tool kit and it's not too bad. The crank extractor's rubbish as are the flat black spanners but all in worth £30 of anyones money.

Good price - there's a couple in there I haven't accumulated yet and it still works out cheaper than buying them individually. Plus, I can donate the surplus to friends who are less keen on bikes than I, but still could do with the right spanners and wrenches.

I was also enamoured with the discount being offerend on their workshop stand.

I managed to get me a toolkit, but alas all the workshop stands were gone by 2PM when i showed up.

Now. anyone any idea how to use the chain whip that comes in the kit? There's 2 likely looking holes drilled in the cone wrenches...

Are the holes of the same spacing as bottlecage braze-ons, by any chance?

I was at the shop on Saturday afternoon, and they had lots and lots of their workstands coming out of a big van. They must've been selling like hot cakes. I bought a couple of bottles of the Finish Line degreaser, although I'm less sure than ever that it's not just orange-flavoured white spirit. I also picked up a woolly hat for winter. Fortunately for everyone else, I bought my workstand three or four years ago, and it's very useful.

Work stand is one of those things i keep wanting but never having the space to store.

Got two of those £2.99 lights, one to back up my homebrew and one for my dad after he seen it.

Yes you know what I meant :) Now. Do you know if I'm barking up the right tree (wrench / spanner) or not?

I have no idea how barking you are, but that's what the holes are for - bit fiddly.

I went in yesterday to try and buy two track pumps, but they were out too.

Shame, as I actually wanted one for my office bike store, and one for SWMBO's...

yup the headset spanner has 2 holes in it.Take the wee rubber bits off the chain and pop the pins through these holes then refit rubber bits to stop it all fallng apart.

@Steveo - the stand folds up if that helps. THe track pump is good for £8 I don't trust the gauge too much, the toolkit met with respect from teh lads at Tynecastle High. We left the stand locked in the teachers bike shed , will see if it is still there next week.,offering to clean teachers bikes for small fee.

No point ever going into the shop (well except to try something for size) during the sale. You can get all the stuff on tintenet the night before.
