Hurrah for that driver. And Hurrah for the driver of the National Library of Scotland van who, on realising that I couldn't fit between his left wing mirror and the wing mirror of the double-yellow parked car, pulled his van forward and out to let me pass and ahead of him in the queuing traffic

...and a hearty 'nul point' to the LB driver in the nr31 (chassis 523) 0935 Monday morning on Minto St inbound to city who was horsing up the outer lane trying to pass 2 other LB buses stopping in green lane, whilst trying to force me to hide in the fuel cap of the rearmost stationary bus; then at the traffic lights asking me why I can't stay in 'my lane'?; implying that bikes aren't allowed to pass stationary vehicles by signalling and overtaking! Sadly often it's all about speed and timetable keeping! Some bus drivers are murderers just waiting in line for their true calling! I say bring back the stocks in the Grassmarket for true justice!

And, sadly, thumbs down to the driver of the 34 who cut me up at the Usher Hall bus stop this afternoon.
I was going at a reasonable pace (well it is uphill) and knew that there was a bus behind so I kept going as fast as I could so as not to delay it too much.
The bus started overtaking - quite close - pulled ahead slightly and moved further towards the kerb with me on the inside.
So I stopped pedalling, probably braked, and went round him (by now stopped) and asked him "what was the point of that".
"You had plenty of room."
Even if he had been parallel to me/kerb it would have been tight. But he was close to the bus stop and clearly intending to get close to the kerb.

You were warned! Just when you thought it was all sweetness and light in the rose garden... if you want an education on human nature this is the very thing for you...

Watch the one with 'roadkill' in it, and appreciate!

Blimey, so it wasn't just me having problems with the maroon buses today! About half four I was riding into town through Dalry heading for Haymarket, and Mr Bus catches me up on the last uphill opposite Orwell Place. There was a taxi waiting at the bus stop beside British Heart Foundation, and I was preparing to move out to overtake, but the bus driver decided to do it first and overtook me at a slow pace, leaving me to haul on the brakes and wait for the bus to pass. He couldn't have waited five more seconds?! I think the chassis number was 89...something, I can't remember because I was too busy micro-fuming.
I got tailgated by a green open-top tour bus later on, too, from George IV Bridge and all the way around Bristo to Teviot Place.
