Given there's the Bike Breakfast on 18th, how about an afternoon/evening?

How about the Ettrick (garden - and greenhouse if it rains).

Cloisters has the best beer, followed fairly closely by Golden Rule and then the Ettrick (which if memory serves me correct serves only the staples of IPA, Guiness, Lager or similar).

Question - are there any pubs that fulfill both the good beer and garden criteria?

    Caley IPA's fine with me!

Haven't been to the Cumberland for many years. Seem to remember it hardly gets any sun.

Ettrick had bitter and twisted last time I was there.

The fountain now puts chairs outside in the sun - on a nice day this is pretty good. And decent beer.

Cumberland beer garden no sun, sheep heid much to offer including skittles, Leslie's in newington has a sort of rood screen that is interesting in the lounge, the bow bar in Victoria st, , fancy the fountain, diggers always, juniper green inn favoured by some, pub quiz sounds easy to win in the Ricxarton Arms has had makeover, as has bridge inn Ratho, not sure about corstorphine, roseburn bar straightforward, Kay's bar must feature.

I fancy this Kay's place. Any pub gembo trumpets is worth a look, I declare. Also I've not been.

Ah yes, in a pub quiz, if the topic is pubs or maybe quizzes, I am your man, otherwise it is a pint of plain.

Once caused controversy in super scot guy's quiz in argyle bar by guessin his six point finale on the first clue Born on Nov 30 1835 but that was a fluke

Just went clockwise from Cumberland shady garden chasing the setting sun
