The other problem I find at that junction is the number of cars that appear to carry on through the lights even when they are changing or even against them. I have noticed this as a cyclist but also as a pedestrian. Don't know if it is a timing issue with the lights or if it is just the usual awful driving but on several occassions I have found myself sitting in the middle of the junction unable to turn right from Gilmore Place as drivers merrily keep coming across from Tarvit Street (this also happens to me a lot turning right at the foot of Comiston Road onto Cluny-suspect it is also rubbish driving).

@dougal Exactly what I thought as I was making the turn.
@jdanielp Nothing parked up. I don't like to position myself any further right in that lane as the buses/lorries turning right from Home Street regularly encroach into the ASZ but never had a driver basically telling me to get out of the road.
@GDR Just the normal standard of driving I'm afraid.

Lothian buses take comments on driver behaviour very seriously. They'll want to know about any driver chatting to cyclists they pass. Buses are fitted with CCTV and microphones. If the person told you to watch out for the wheels of their eight tonne PSV....they shouldn't be driving one.
