I can't remember whether I posted a link to this on Strava or not, but we enjoyed an epic ride on a long weekend around Lochinver in the wild north west.

I got some pics through from our friends down south and have stuck them up (along with the map/elevation) on my site: http://mccraw.co.uk/cycling-lochinver-assynt/

Totally amazing riding. There's not much else like it (mostly 'main' roads) but alone it was worth the immense drive.

Looks like you got the weather for that one. One of the photos on your blog has a massive mountain in the background.

Norman McCaig the poet, now long gone, was Edinburgh schoolteacher who thought assynt was heaven

I have a friend in Inverness. She cycles... hmmm...

Actually I was up visiting her a couple of weekends back to go backpacking, which is what I usually visit her to do. I have said that I'll take the bike up sometime - but it might be as a bad weather alternative to Munro bagging! That route does deserve a good day - I've driven bits of it at various times (on the way to climb hills/cliffs) but I've never actually cycled in that area.
