"Bid to re-open Portobello railway station"

All that remains is the station master’s house, which sits at Station Brae, off Brighton Place.
Actually there's more than that, you can see some of the bricked-up entrance ways to the station (which was an island platform accessed by a subway and sitting in a large junction, much like Dalry which is/was accessed from the Telfer Subway).

What a great idea (and I love the archive photo). I hope this is successful. Hopefully a re-opened train station might help resolve some of the heavy traffic going into/through Portobello.

While they're at it can they re-open Abbeyhill station too? They are laying tracks along the alignment next ti the old platform.....in order to 'park' diesel trains to free up capacity at Waverley!
