    It's interesting that they've asked, but for my 2p: if the authorities aren't interested in this footage when someone tries to kill me with their car, why should I submit it for something relatively trivial like this?

    They were good with some footage I handed in a few weeks ago. Just don't give them media you want back - no sign of my expensive USB key being returned.....

    I wouldn't call it trivial - please read the story first.

    That said, Dave's general point about average polis disinterest remains.

    I was careful to say relatively trivial. I'm sure it wasn't trivial for this particular victim, but there are a very limited number of knife crimes compared with dangerous driving, out of all proportion with enforcement effort.

    Whilst it's good they're making such an effort it does seem strange that such evidence is normally not worth a jot.

    Suspect it's for 'leads' rather than something to take to court.
