I'm finding Brunswick Road pretty quiet. I've just discovered West Montgomery Street, which has A/ no cobbles and B/ closed at the end by bollards so is the perfect cycle-friendly way to cut between Hillside and Brunswick Road.

Today it was fairly quiet so after coming off the path at Roseburn I stayed on the Corstorphine Road all the way to it turning into St. Johns Road and turned off just before the shop formerly known as Happit.

    It's actually takingh 40 minutes, not 35 (over-optimistic estimate).

I'll just have to learn to love all the unleashed dogs all over the NEPN at 830AM...

I was driving today and was 'convinced' I saw you back on the Broomhouse - perhaps not, it was a bit distant and damp.

Allanfield might be useful if the lights at McDonald/Brunswick turn red just as you approach them and you were going a bit eastwards anyway. Not so useful in the other direction due to Leith Walk's central kerb.

@Nelly - if I were heading into town could have been me on the way home diverted via the immense B&Q at Hermiston Gait.
