Geraint's view: This is a nailed on sprint stage. Several teams will try to get into an early break looking to give some television exposure to the sponsors of their teams. Expect to see several French riders wanting to get on television and also hoover up the King of the Mountains points on the two small categorised climbs. I think nibali would have won the tour this year even with Froome and contador in it. But I do not think the French would have been on the podium.
As to the science sport blog he is clearly asking the right questions. Doping has not gone away it is just more limited is my take.
