Very pretty bike though. Cool that he has kept the frame. I am glad the effort was worth it!

Nice. I am sure he could make his £120 back a few times over if he ever wished!

Don't think this one will work - on a different scale of 'judgement' from the Red Road Flats issue. That was stopped - genuinely or 'conveniently' because of police 'safety fears'.

I don't understand why there is an opening ceremony tartan as well as the one unveiled in April.

Unless I've missed something the opening ceremony tartan is Team Scotland's tartan while the one unveiled in April is the Games' own tartan.

    Ah, that makes sense!

    Hadn't detected the subtle difference!!

    Still 'too late' to cancel/replace.

Well, it is a bit late now to change it. The tartan in itself isn't actually that bad, it is the shirts/dresses and combo with. I did like the comment that it is a colour that clashes with itself.

I'm planning to go to watch the road races, the time trial and both days of triathlon competition. I've booked time off work for the two weekday ones.

I can't make it for the road race, but can heartily endorse Montrose Street as a good spot to spectate.

Lots of painting at Bus Station also.
Lots of tarmac laying, white line painting going on.

Commonwealth Pool seems to have a swung into an action. There's a contraflow on Holyrood Park Road.

Well we decided to stay at home and watch the road races on the telly. Too much of a traipse with a kid in tow. Luckily very good coverage, much better than the Olympic road races. Women's road race just finished, great fun to watch. They were treated to a proper Glasgow soaking near the end too.

Well done the medallists, but also Scotland's Katie Archibald who hung in there in the leader group. Someone to watch for the future.

Well the men's race is getting a right drenching the noo. Quite glad to be watching it in (relatively) dry Embra and the comfort of an armchair!

Peter Kennaugh doing a phenomenal job out in front since the start, basically. Can he hold on? David Millar still in contention with 82km to go.

Very strange to watch the commonwealth games road race cycling right past my student flat in Hillhead street 12 times. Just as wet as ever. Rottenrow climb also felt very weird. Would have been great circuit to watch the race from had it not been so wet. Thomas very calm he must have known he had them beaten but if they had seen him it might have been differnt. He was very strong.

I was on Montrose Street (I think it is Montrose - the last climb before the finish, anyway). We got quite wet.
Glasgow Green Cycling club had set up a big screen on the side there, which was great as it meant we had some idea what was going on. (I think it was intended primarily for members as eventually it was quite hard to see it from the road because of all the people stood in front of it. We could hear the commentary, anyway, and that made a huge difference over having no idea what was going on at all.) The atmosphere was great... it may have reduced somewhat when it had been raining for a while, but there were still plenty of people there even then.
