Ok, so I keep getting reminders that Flickr is removing any other option than signing in with a yahoo account. I followed the link but it has put me off with demands for a phone number etc.
Anyone use an alternative for posting on here?

I think I just made a number up.
Google tried the same recently when "rationalising" Youtube and Google logins (I've got one of each from before they merged).
They wanted to force a proper name as well as a user name and the option "Noneofyour Business" wasn't allowed. "Noneofyour Beeswax" is an option.
I like the Flickr service just enough (despite their best attempts to ruin it) to be willing to hand over some made-up data to continue to use it.
