A Cyclist has been receiving medical treatment on the road after being hit by a lorry in Edinburgh city centre this afternoon.
"
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

From the photo it looks like a left-turning non-articulated LGV into Gardinder's Crescent has taken them out. I sincerely hope they are OK, it's a horrible turn visibility wise and a dreadful crossing for pedestrians too, with no lights you just have to try work out the vehicle phases and scurry across as best as you can.
Photo in EN seems to show bike on right with driver(??) holding a drip!
Perhaps cyclist came up the hill from Dewar Place and lorry turned left off Morrison Street at same time? Anyway best not to speculate and just wish for the best fort hem.
"best not to speculate"
Yeah (almost) a CCE rule in such circumstances.
EN pic changed
Dear me, that's close to home! My house in that shot.
I failed to get a good look at this coming in. Didn't spot a bike or rider. Best of luck to them.
For what it's worth I've only once, in four years, had a problem with this junction.
* It looks like they've now moved the lorry onto Gardner's crescent proper and reopened Morrision Street.
Horrible junction if coming up the hill from Dewar Place.

Not just the junction itself but the lead up to it. Steep hill plus traffic with attitude.
Really hope the cyclist is ok and this isn't too serious.... the pictures are really chilling
There was a new story on this, but has disappeared. Presumably being revised.

Witnesses said the man had been trapped beneath the large delivery truck but managed to drag himself free before paramedics reached the scene.
A mangled mountain bike could be seen resting against guardrails at the roadside.
