Wheelset - 700c Shimano/Alex

    Hi all,

    For sale (although could be persuaded to donate to a good enough cause):
    Front and rear 32-spoke disc- or rim-brake compatible;
    Shimano M475 hubs;
    Alex G2000 rims;
    Black spokes.

    Both wheels in good nick - their rider is light and careful. Braking surfaces on the rims are as new (been used as disc wheels).

    Ooh, how much? I've been after some disc wheels to put gears back on my fixie.

    Hi rust - I'll be honest: I don't really know what they're worth (that may stuff up my negotiating position!). I think it would probably cost about £90-£100 to get an equivalent wheelset new, so does £40 sound OK? You're welcome to inspect before offering. The front is as near as dammit true (although my wheel-truing OCD would probably see me giving it an hour to get it straighter) and the rear is true to within a couple of millimetres - I can fix that before sale...

    An M475 hub - that's Deore, isn't it?

    Check the spacing for the frame drop-outs - they may be different. I think a road bike is 130mm and an MTB 135mm?

    Alivio, should be 135mm which matches my frame.

    In which case I'll take them!

    Hey rust - OK, then, they're yours...

    I think it is a 135mm, but I can confirm tonight - it certainly should be. I'm pretty sure it is Alivio, but there are no further markings on the hub.

    Where are you based? I'm in morningside, but have no real aversion to cycling around with wheels strapped to my back.

    I'm in Leith. Would be happy to drop them to you - likewise happy to cycle over with wheels strapped on! Otherwise, I'm in the colonies off Lochend Road.

    Do you want the small kink in the rear wheel taken out? Also, I've not yet confirmed 135mm with an actual caliper...
