"Here's a link to the 'calendar events':
    http://www.aukweb.net/events/?From=11%2F08%2F2014&To=6&Days=&Category=&Dist_min=&Dist_max=&Aaa=&Region=scotland

As you can see these currently go up to the end of October, after which 2015 starts in the world of Audax."

In fact 2015 begins in October in the world of Audax UK (ie. 2014 ceases at the end of September). The new season used to start in November until last year...

The change of season only really matter if you are competing in the points championship, or going for one of the awards that need certain rides to be completed in one season, eg. Super Randonneur. Otherwise for non-members or less competitive audaxers it scarecly matter whether it is 2014 or 2015 season.

Yes but you have to complete certain distance events by certain dates. Hopefully the organisors will have laid on events within the qualifying periods.

To qualify for PBP you have to ride the following distances within the dates stated next year. All events must be a BRM and you can't substitute longer distances for shorter ones

    200km between 1/1/15 and 10/5/15
    300km between 28/3/15 and 24/5/15
    400km between 18/4/15 and 7/6/15
    600km between 8/5/15 and 21/6/15

There will likely be at least one ride of each distance in Scotland.

On 23rd August there's the Grantown Gallop 100k and the Rothes Recce 200k (latter new for 2014): both start in Newtonmore, which is the nearest to Nairn you'll get I think.

I've ridden the 100k and 200k from Newtonomore and they come highly recommended. Whether there will be sufficient usable roads left is another matter! Heavy flooding in Kingussie too I understand.
