Bike/ pedestrian collision?

Came across the aftermath of what I think was a bike/ pedestrian collision this morning, on Palmerston Place near the West Maitland Street traffic lights. The pedestrian was quite badly hurt, and required an ambulance (2 turned up!), plus a couple of police officers arrived and took witness statements. I was very heartened by the number of passers-by who helped, including a couple of trained first aiders, plus a few others of us who just waved traffic back or around as needed.

Hope no one here was involved?

I saw the aftermath, but didn't know what had happened. Police were rinsing the road about 7-8 metres away from the traffic light crossing.

I trust that the EEN will figure out what happened, based on the evidence from one witness, 200m away.

Not me. What time? My neearest approach was at about 08:45 from Dalry Road to Torphichen Street. When, I might add, I had to glare at the cyclist beside me who looked like he wanted to weave through the peds still wandering across the crossing.

It was about 9.05 am. I'm pleased to say that the mess on the road was mostly milk (presumably carried by the pedestrian), and the ped was able to walk to the ambulance after being attended in situ.
