Dan Plant, consumer finance expert at MoneySuperMarket, said the Scottish cities’ slide down the table was largely due to the fact that there had been a decline in disposable income which had not risen in-line with the other cities.

I guess it takes a "finance expert" to determine that quality of life is so proportional to disposable income

As I have unilateraly decided not to click on anything Johnstone Press related, I can only guess at the content.

However, I would have to say my quality of life is pretty good.

Why only last night a mere 40 minutes after leaving my desk I was showered and sitting outside Cafe Artista (marchmont) with Mrs N and son enjoying pizza and salad in the sun with a BYOB of italian red.

    Lovely it was.

I would wager that similar is also on offer in most Scottish cities, but pretty much impossible in the likes of London / South East where ludicrous property prices people out to estates hours away from work.

So, while we may be sightly worse off, there are more things in life than money.

Anyway, thats me off home again, on my bike, in the Sun.

    Surveys? Pah
