The bike parking at Lidl on Dalry Rd seems to have been removed and replaced with extended trolley racks!

If I were Emperor, every supermarket with a car park would, by law, have to have bike parking that was equivalent to x% (to be decided later) of the parking spaces.

Why limit it to those with parking? How about the maximum of X, Y and Z. Where X is a multiple of parking spaces, Y is derived from floor space and Z is an absolute minimum.

Strange as its never full when we drive by/visit. You would think using a single or double parking place would not cause any drop in custom.

And that presumably doesn't include the bikes up the stairs on the bike path.

Was that picture taken during a bike kit sale (that is at Aldi this week).? Why are so many cyclists going to LIDL? Aldi is much better.

Yesterday I went to Onions and the dark net a talk given as part of Explorathon 2014 at Cabaret Voltaire.

I noticed outside the Troon although a lot of bike parking it was all taken it looked like the netherlands.

I agree Aldi is better, apart from for cheap beer. I supose its a bit further to go up to gorgie to Aldi but their is where I used to shop when lived in area.

We could start emailing or ringing them up prior to visiting, earnestly asking if they have cycle parking facilities, expressing hope that we will not be discouraged from purchasing Toujours baby wipes and Sondey discount-yet-superior jaffa cakes by an absence of dedicated parking.

Sainsbury noted this and punished cyclists at their Murrayfield instance with their three-racks-next-to-smokers'-corner trick.
