Seatpost finishing?

    Turning to the CCE collective as my Google-fu is failing me.

    I'm needing a seatpost, and don't understand the difference between the finishing being offered - "black on black" and "black anodized".

    The reason for the change of seatpost is that the current one is too long to be comfortable for all users, however it's also getting scratched in being raised and lowered. This is just cosmetic, but if one of the finishes will survive this usage better, I'll choose that!

    Black anodised stuff doesn't stay black long in my experience. It's just dyed organically, rather than being a mineral colour and fades quickly in the sun.

    Dunno what 'black on black' could mean. I thought that was a kind of crime in America.
