Am I reading correctly that the ~£0.5M for Leith Walk was not spent in 13/14, and has been included in the next years spends - but not incuded in the 7%?

If so, does than mean there is a fair bit more money to be spent in the 14/15 year than 13/14?

There are some pretty strategic routes - WoL path Roseburn to Balgreen for example - that are in dire need of some tarmac.

Yes, I think you are right in that interpretation. There have definitely been problems in spending money in previous years, but I don't recall the budgets being this clear about about they were handled.

If you've got suggestions for spending, do email cycling@edinburgh.gov.uk and suggest!

It's commendably transparent. A good sign.

One positive is that, on a day to day basis cycling around the city, I can actually see some of the places where money has been spent on improving or creating routes. The level of funding math not be at the level of our northern European neighbours but it is starting to have a beneficial effect.

Some big tests on delivery this year: Leith Walk and George Street corridors. I'm still hopeful that some of the problems with both schemes can be addressed. Persistent pressure in the form of constructive comments can only help.

Interesting to see the change in wording as section 3 progresses:
3.1 The Council spent a total of ...
    3.2 ... was identified for spend ...
3.3 Of this funding £1,051,639 [about 50%] was spent in 2013/14

I can see why Fife Council were saying they will be the first council in Scotland to spend 6% of their budget on cycling. (although I can't find a citation to this just now.)

Meanwhile in our neck of the woods, Glasgow Council have just confirmed that they have no plans to spend any money on cycling.
