When I was switching cassettes over the other night I couldn't tighten the lockring up properly and on closer inspection I noticed that half the first thread of the freehub body has snapped off. I Had to remove a 1mm spacer to enable me to grip the freehub body with the lockring and now I am getting a little bit of play in the cassette(can probably live with it)

Anybody else experienced an issue like this and were you able to resolve it?

A new freehub body costs about £60 but I'm not that keen to buy one seeing as the wheels were only £160 new

I have those wheels and I've not had that problem (so far). However, I did accidentally have a little play in my cassette and it caused a horrific clicking sound that has potentially caused my cassette and/or chain and/or rear mech to no longer work smoothly, as I can no longer easily get into my 4th largest cog. So I recommend you don't leave it like that for too long!
