Ways to upload Garmin Foretrex routes?

    Hi all,
    One for the gadget geeks(!)
    I have a Garmin Foretrex, only really used it to get a grid and confidence check my map reading in difficult places, however I am vaugely aware that it tracks routes and can be uploaded...

    Anyone know the best (ideally free!) software to do this? Especially with a view to uploading cycle routes.

    you should be able to export the GPX file or find it on the device, punt that up to sportypal.com

    I use bikeroutetoaster to *make* routes, I haven't tried it for uploading though (I've got a client on the Mac for that, but it's not free)

    mapmyride.com can be good for plotting routes you have already done, too.

    oooh! look! it uploads direct from the device!

    Garmin have their own upload/analysis/sharing service at http://connect.garmin.com

    The Foretrex 401 and 301 are compatible, just follow the instructions here:
