For the study you will cycle a short route in Inverleith while wearing Google Glass and an EEG headset. All levels of cycling experience are welcome, but you should be able to cycle safely on the road.

If you are interested, you are welcome to find out more from us at the Inverleith Community Conference on Thursday 30th October, Broughton High School, 6pm. You will need to register for the event beforehand, via Eventbrite: http://goo.gl/R0iWid

    Curious.

So you don't have to go to the event but it might help(?)

Hope the short route includes Carrington Road and Inverleith Park (and the bit where you are invited to dismount and push your bike to the pedestrian crossing near the Botanics...)

chdot - I'm curious as to whether you were wearing google glass(es) and brain monitoring equipment when you identified a way of improving cycling in Inverleith. Surely this isn't possible with something as low-tech as boring, old eyes.

Nah, but I did have some hitech Japanese optoelectronics courtesy of Canon.

I wonder if the use of Google Glass (not being terribly au fait with said tech) is to facilitate eyeball tracking, so that data can be gathered about what one looks at, in terms of hazards or terrain or such like.

Perhaps it's the converse, and augmentated reality is the new way to navigate British cycle infrastructure.

    "Perhaps it's the converse"

I assume there will be a few people on here intending to find out...

Google Glass just for capturing video of what your head's pointing at. They're really quite unobtrusive and non-distracting as long as you push the screen up out of your field of view.
