  1. Strava:

    Stop, hear tell-tale beep
    Garmins pause await light change
    Green, commute race start

    Weather:

    Clear sky ride in shorts
    Where did that cloud appear from?
    Wet through and cold now

    Today;

    Leave in summer shorts
    Leaden pall descends. Lights on
    Overtrews come out

    Last night;

    Peaceful autumn night
    Moon flecked canal, cobbled path
    Youthful burst soon fades

    5-7-5 syllables, right?

    Leaves fall. Turn to mulch.
    Oncoming lights much too bright.

    Ahead, two people
    One right up the other's bum
    Daft, amongst wet leaves

    Queen Charlotte Street's setts
    glisten with spilt diesel oil
    Watch out along there.

    On NEPN,
    WoL too, and canal towpath
    Searing lights abound.

    Yes, plus a seasonal reference and a melancholic tone.

    The canal;

    Teeshirt toddlers gone
    Pathside thickets wither down
    Cormorants return

    Ducklings all full grown
    Summer leaves now golden fall
    Still no kingfisher

    This is not the way

    There was a young man from Japan
    Whose limericks didn't quite scan
    When asked why
    He said because I
    Try to fit as many syllables into the last line as I possibly can

    Oh wAit haiku

    I once wrote a program that randomly generated haiku, worked well.
    When I say I wrote it, that is a lie I cannot even remember the name of the language I was supposed to be learning but it was a popular programming language in Japan funnily enough, Ah yes, Prolog

    The scottish nAtional bonsai collection might still be in Balerno, in a wee greenhouse

    And finally Cyril, the best whisky of 2015 is Japanese. No scottish malt in the top five appArently
