I wonder if they'll move the stinky sewage works on the site.

What an amazing evening! We've had no time to tweet as we were all talking bike! 90 people turned up and created quite a buzz! #CyclingFife"

Event was busy, some interesting stuff, mostly predictable. Was nice to meet some new people, and chat to DaveC and Instography from here.
Some highlights:
Fife expanding the 'cycling hub' with a closed circuit track in the planning stages. looking for feedback on that. Looks like we may have 3 closed circuits within 30 miles soon, good.
Fife Cycling festival will become a 'Summer of Cycling' which will run from May to September. Calls for events / things to run in that time frame under the 'Summer of Cycling Banner'. Not all sport, want it to be inclusive.
New Fife Cycling Website to rolled out soon by Council.
As mentioned earlier via video, Fife trying to market the area as a world class cycling destination.
They are seeking people to get involved in community based projects, guided rides, cycle start, that sort of thing.
Councillor chap who spoke at start (missed his name) will be attending #Pop2015
Predictable:
No money for infra, other than the current Sustrans projects. Transport chap willing, but no resource. Aspiration to get same levels of funding as Edinburgh "Thats the dream". Reality is Fife's transport budget only pays for repairs and maintenance, there is no capital budget.I counted 6 bikes, car park was mobbed.
I have some photos, and notes. Will reflect and maybe post something later.

Best bit - the number of people already organising events and trying to get people involved in all aspects of cycling.
Worst - the limited aspirations of transport guys - short trips, second rate infrastructure, no influence over Transport Scotland. They come across as a bit defeated.
Nice ride back with a whippet from the village.

I'll probably not be able to go to this one unfortunately due to child care arrangements (i.e. me being the arrangement). Need to see what Mrs Baldcyclists off duty is for that week.

Is there other 'networking' throughout the year?

Just reviving this thread just in case there is anything to report.

No networking event this year, or (council organised) cycling festival last summer.
There have been a series of 'Wee Bikefest' events around Kelty, Cowdenbeath areas aimed at kids, presumably to do with the £1M track thing that is still going ahead.
There's a smalller track thing been opened in Dunfermline.
I attended a 'consultation' on a proposed 'cycling hub' in Burntisland, which is really just some signs. They tried to sell me the idea of 'shared use' on roads.
There is some guided rides which are volunteer run, led by council.
Bound to be lots more I don't know about, but mostly volunteer led type activity.

"which is really just some signs"
That's a pity, this makes it sound more ambitious -

Will a PoP feeder be on the agenda?
Posted 7 years ago # -
Don't know (not likely). I know Jim can't do it this year, and I'm still not well enough too just now (won't be at meeting either).
I know there are others that could (prob Fife Cycling UK folks), but I've not seen any chat.
