Amidst enjoying the culture, architecture and febrile political atmosphere of a recess break I had decided to put to the test what I’ve said – that if the city I was in had a network of off-road cycle paths I would be happy to get off my two feet and onto two wheels. But I also wanted a practical lesson in street design to take back to Edinburgh, and to experience the challenges faced by so many of the people who write to me, in a place whose infrastructure may (or may not) have been developed enough to cushion my unfamiliarity with the mode of transport.

    ...

Barcelona’s network has come about because of determined action over less than decade by the city’s leaders

    Not Roberto then?

I was watching father ted last night with teenage progeny, they are fans. It was the one where father Jack drank the floor polish and seemed to be dead. Father Dougal had to administer the last rites, he was not familiar with them and managed to insert the words Roberto Baggio into them. Genius.

Marco Biagi is my MSP. I spoke to him at PoP last year:

but haven't really made use of the contact. He's definitely "on our side" (as far as I can tell from the brief conversation I had with him - but that Barcelona piece backs this up). I meant to contact him about next year's PoP - would it be appropriate to suggest he could come on the Harrison Park feeder ride?

"would it be appropriate to suggest he could come on the Harrison Park feeder ride?"

    WELL worth suggesting.

Say that Kezia Dugdale and Ian Murray did and 'we' supplied the tandem.

He is a 'pedestrian' and walked from The Meadows this year, he may just be happy to do that again.
