    Statutory reminder -

    For newcomers (ALL welcome) -

    AKA http://tinyurl.com/PY-Fri

"Normally from 7.30 to 8.30 for most folk."

Some people hang on past nine.

    http://petersyard.com

In the past there have been 'two sittings' - 'early people' and 'after about half eight' (obviously with overlaps).

Previous Dec PY's have involved (a few) silly hats.

Also (not very) secret santa. (Aka getting rid of unwanted bits and pieces - wrapping optional.)

I've been a using motorised vehicles recently and getting fat and lazy/lazier, so this could be just the incentive I need to get back on the bike :-)
But which one to take...:-/ (!)

Anyone going tomorrow able/willing to lend me a pair of smallish panniers (for front low-rider rack) for 10 days?

@chdot - you're welcome to have a (patched) pair of Ortlieb Front Roller Citys.

Not the best of Ortlieb's output, but functional enough.

Drop me an email if this is the best offer you get...

Just noticed (from the "silly hats" link to last years thread) that I took the Brompton last year, seems only fair then that I ride it this year again :-)
Fingers crossed for dry, and I'll hope to see some of you about 0730ish then B-)

I can't make it tomorrow as I'm on foot and public transport to work, which swings nowhere near PY.

@chdot if you can't hook up with Roibeard's front rollers, I also have a pair of front rollers, only available in Yellow, could get to you over the weekend.

Well, it was nice to see people, even if, as always, I have to vanish just as people turn up. Apologies for the Brompton dominated chat!

I think the wind has dropped. The headwind from the station to the office wasn't as bad as I expected.

Headwind wasn't as bad as it could have been but my legs were far,far worse, ouch lol. Clearly I need to get my lardy behind onto the bike over the festive period! :-0

Worth it for good company and a decent coffee to start the day, nice to meet everyone, have a safe and pleasant festival all :-)

    Think might have been 8.23

This year's theme was Xmas presents going to good homes

My clown horn that CHDot gave me (thank you very much) stayed in my possession for five minutes until MIni-SRD came in and he seemed very happy with it tho will need to perfect his horn rubber squashing technique to get the necessary parp parp to impact on arobcomp's hangover

Similarly, IWRATS bramble jeely went to a different Alan (with minimal change to the label).

    merry xmas

Nice to see everyone and thanks for putting up with my stonking hangover with only minimal torturous bell ringing and horn honking!

You'll be pleased to know I actually do feel much better after a cycle along the canal to the aqueduct (I didn't see a single person on the tow path, no idea what you lot are always complaining about), and a swim, followed by a lorne and egg roll from the van in wickes car park. Now for tea and a nap!

Destined always to arrive too late it seems. Second shift had no Bromptons. Quite a lot of carbon though - in fact maybe too much.
M5 doesn't have any luggage capacity either....
chdot had his new bike - a Dawes All terrain Version with Schwalbe Winter tyres and nice horizontal top tube with 531 frame.

was good to see folks again, I had to be reminded of the spam filter ha ha
I'll likely sink back into the lurk once a month category but thought it would be fun to be your obligatory seasonal "blast-from-the-past"

@arobcomp - you cycled to the aqueduct then went for a swim? I suppose it is a bit like a single lane pool, cold though. Over on the 6mph thread Dave is wanting pushed into the canal.
