"I'd like one of ARobComp's girlfriend's bikes please"

You can't get one until ARC has patented the secret ingredient.

    (Won't be cheap though.)

On tattie day in Balerno a couple of years back I did col du Climpy route with Kaputnik and druidh. I must have had a virus as they were having to wait for me. Anyway at the end of the ride druidh indicated that his yellow dustcaps would match kaputnik's yellow bar tape and kaputnik's blue dustcaps would match druidh.'s blue tape. So they swapped

No gembo, it's Yoof for the lols.

Anyway, a pair of Marathon not-Plus 28mm are winging their way to me now, for to be shod onto Mileomnomnometer, since I suspect I will find my impending Roslin address tiresome on Wee Blue Floofy.

Schwalbe and Marathon+ I take it all back...alas, not a puncture through your tyre but an inadequate fit to the rim by yours truly.

Indeed the cause was a pinch puncture near the valve; probably due to me screwing the silver thing down although I noticed it pinched AGAIN on the re-fit post puncture. Left the silver thingy off completely now.

Hopefully all sorted now. Take a bow IWRATS and all above who got it right! :-)

These forums are great for the novice...I'll be extra careful on my next P**** ;-)

@beano, I bought some tyres from wiggle once, probably Gatorskins. There was a deal with inner tubes but when they came they were tiny. Probably 18-23. I pinched them both putting them on. Gave up on wiggle after that.

    Inflate - deflate - inflate?
Do you mean, you put the tyre back on, inflate the tube, then deflate the tube and re-inflate and you're good to go?
    Or something else?

Inflate-a-bit when fitting the tyre to the rim to keep the tube away from the rim-bead area (including not attaching the tube valve ring thing yet to be able to push that bit of the tube well clear of the bead) then inflate-a-bit-more to stretch the tyre a little just before attempting to get the last bit of it on, perhaps with a little more (though not total) deflation, then a partial inflation and another squidge all round the tyre to get it to seat properly, then leaving it for a bit at 50-60psi to check for the absence of installation errors (including pinch-punctures) before eventual full-inflation.

Excellent choice, Sir Uce of the Vale of Uber. I find this particular variety most hard wearing and efficacious on the Dawes Audax semi-speedy bike.
