I know that some of you work at businesses/other places of work, and that some businesses like to do random secret santa things that are a bit lame. Can I suggest that you ask your colleagues whether they'd consider doing the Shelter Scotland #SocialMediaSanta ? Or just get involved yourself!

    Basically
Choose a gift for ages 0-18
Send to shelter HQ or drop it into a nationwide bank (I think)
Then shelter will make sure that it gets to a kid who would otherwise not recieve a present this year.

We did it last year in our office, and have done so again, most giving presents they would have enjoyed themselves at that age (frisbee/football/art set)

    Just a thought!

    A good thought, ARobComp.

My current employer has the excellent practice of asking CEC for a list of children known to their social services who will appreciate a gift. The list came with a two line biography for each child, some of which made me

    1) want to track down and assassinate the parents
    2) tear up in the office

Much better than well paid people buying each other unwanted tat.

Great stuff. Glad that there are other initiatives like this. I like shelter and trust that they are going to similar charities.
