Article in the Telegraph suggests a Korean company has invented a solution:

"Prices start at £89 a pair"

I tested 'solid tyres' years ago. The main problem was that they were made of some sort of plastic and were unsafe in the wet.

As exampled by the ouch thread, 'we' normally take the tiny interface between rubber and tarmac for granted.

Punctures are a pain, but not as much as tyres that don't provide a 'secure' link to the road.

If that is OK, solid tyres (no need for pumping) will suit some people.

Solid tyres have been around for longer than pneumatic tyres, and there is a reason why we all use pneumatic tyres... they work!

Whenever a newspaper headline is expressed as a question, you can be pretty safe in responding 'probably not' (whatever the question...)

A colleague of mine once bought a Royal Enfield motorcycle direct from India. It came equipped with tyres branded 'Nylo-Grip Plus' which looked just like these, gripped nothing at all and went straight to landfill.
