Oh, these are great fun!
I did one (with a pool swim) in Perth last year. Fast and furious (really hard work) at the front and a great introduction to tri, over a short distance, if you fancy giving it a go (though the open water part obviously raises the bar a little).

I raced in the open Olympic category at the London World Triathlon in June this year. And tore a ligament in my ankle from which I'm still recovering. But everyone should do a triathlon, it gives a different kind of training and fitness, though the purists may have an issue with Rule #42
