    Dilemma time.

Last Fri is 30th - which is 6 weeks away.

So then? (Presume everyone will have been paid for the month/week?)

23rd (so you don't have do much time to forget everyone)

    Or 30th and 9th too??

That would be nice, we could flip to first Friday in every month (that isn't a public holiday) for 2015?

Gembo will (probably) be along for the 'late shift'.

I am hoping to be there, cannot give exact time as yet but have fewer lunches to make so might get away promptly. Maybe 8.15 ish, will give more precise timing later. This usually catches the later early shift and the early later shift, which is nice. I particularly like to admire the excellent manner in which Morningsider rolls his ortliebs

I have a dentist appointment in Marchmont that morning, so will be there and will stay to see the start of the late shift.

If it's this Friday I'll hopefully swing by, as part of the early later shift per usual.

I will go on the long way round heading east as might get train home, though said that last night and didn't

Wind over night in Balerno 38mph

Still over 30 in the morning.

    May take canal towpath

According to bbc wind then drops to teenage speeds in the afternoon before picking up to twenties again after 16pm. (All figs quoted for Balerno which means gogarburn)

Hmm, I am wondering if my bike-train-bike commute will be sensible or foolhardy tomorrow, or even viable if trains start to be cancelled :-/
I've been stuck in Edinburgh before when all rail services were suddenly cancelled due to dangerous winds :-(

Lots of tree debris on the NEPN between Ainslie Park and Roseburn.
I stopped to clear about 5 of the larger obstructions that were across the width of the whole path...but there's more to be aware of.

All scotrail services cancelled until at least 1000 today. If you travel by rail, I'd stay home today!

gembo - can't have missed you by much. I had a nosey in Starbucks, just in case people had gone there, but all quiet. Number 79 on the counter this morning - lowest number I've ever been.

A flat in the rear tyre this morning meant I wasn't able to leave early enough to head to PY, which seems a blessing in disguise considering it wisnae open.

Well I went to PY Jan, even if nobody else did. Having arrived at about 0745 to find PY itself shut I repaired to Starbucks where I nursed a latte on my own. I was five minutes from packing up to go to the dentist when I saw Morningsider swing by, but I was tucked away at the back and didn't wave or anything because I was just about to leave and thought it would be unfair to drag him in and then abandon him...

Lesson for me is that this is an occasion when a smart phone would be useful so that I could have posted plaintive messages about my predicament. Sometimes having a mobile that cost £10, makes calls, sends texts and has a battery life of two weeks isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

I went to PY Jan too, arriving about 8.45am. To be honest, I did notice the suspiciously small number of bikes as I approached. I woke late today and didn't check in here before rushing out the door. :(

I considered the other coffee place but didn't recognise any of the occasional bikes parked there, so I carried on with the day.

@Greenroofer I trust the latte is now in rude health.

Given that I was actually (trapped) in town today at the allotted time I'm sorry I didn't pay attention to the PY Jan date sooner, but relieved I didn't waste my time fighting across town for a meeting that didn't take place!

'Spose I should apologise for suggesting the date.
